SUGAR GROVE, Ill. – Steady goes the ship for RangeGoats Golf Club, and LIV Golf Chicago was just another example.

The team finished in fourth place at 25 under for the week, eight shots behind winner Crushers Golf Club. It was back-to-back fourth-place finishes for the RangeGoats after a nice showing at LIV Golf Bedminster.

In what has been a consistent theme this season, Talor Gooch led the way and finished seventh on the individual leaderboard (10 under), just three shots behind winner Bryson DeChambeau. The three-time winner in 2023 had all three scores count this week and finished with a 3-under 68. Gooch was tied for seventh in greens in regulation (75.93%) for the week and tied for 10th in putting.

Captain Bubba Watson matched Gooch’s 68 and performed well all week. He opened with a 69 and followed it with an even-par 71 before shooting his best round on Sunday. Watson now has consecutive top-25 finishes.

Harold Varner III had his team’s final counting score on Sunday with a 2-under 69 which included three birdies and just one bogey. Teammate Thomas Pieters’ 71 wasn’t needed but he contributed nicely during the first two days with a pair of 67s.

The team entered the week mathematically alive for one of the top four seeds that will receive first-round byes and sat at No. 5 in the season-long team standings.
