BOLINGBROOK, Ill. - The regular-season finale at LIV Golf Chicago provided plenty of storylines for RangeGoats Golf Club, affecting everything from the upcoming Team Championship in Dallas to players’ eligibility for the 2025 season.

RangeGoats GC entered the week No. 9 in the season-long team standings and was out of the race to earn a bye for the first round at this week’s Team Championship. But there was plenty to play for when it came to individual players trying to earn status for 2025.

Matthew Wolff held the No. 17 position in the Lock Zone entering Sunday in Chicago. The Lock Zone guarantees a player’s spot for the 2025 season. Wolff finished T47 in Chicago and landed at No. 18 in the final individual standings.

Teammate Peter Uihlein began the week No. 29 and in the Open Zone, which consists of spots Nos. 25-88, and players that land there can be potentially traded or released by their team. Uihlein needed to move up several spots to finish in the Lock Zone but came up short. He finished T15 in Chicago, and No. 27 in the final individual standings and in the Open Zone.

Thomas Pieters was in a similar spot as Uihlein. Pieters began the week No. 34 in the Open Zone and had a big mountain to climb. He gave it a great effort and finished T11 in Chicago to boost him to No. 30 in the final individual standings. That kept him in the Open Zone, where he can potentially be traded or released but not relegated.

Captain Bubba Watson, who finished No. 53 in the final individual standings, will now set his team’s sights on the Team Championship in Dallas at Maridoe Golf Club.

Overall, the team finished No. 9 out of 13 teams in the season-long team standings. At the Team Championship, the three top teams in the final team standings following Chicago earned first-round byes and automatically qualified for Saturday’s semifinals.

The 10 teams seeded No. 4-13, including RangeGoats GC, will compete in five quarterfinal matches on Friday, with matchups determined at a live press conference featuring team captains during tournament week. The five winners of the opening match play round will then advance to the semifinals.

Also, to add strategy withing the competition, team captains may opt to participate in the singles and foursomes matchups during the first two days of match play.
